Who we are and what this policy covers

DLAIS is the developer and provider of Dropelz Local AI Studio (“DLAIS”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). DLAIS is responsible for personal data that DLAIS itself receives through the website, email, or developer reports provided by Apple.

Dropelz Local AI Studio does not require a DLAIS account and DLAIS does not operate a remote AI-inference service for the app. Most information handled by the app remains solely on your Mac and is controlled directly by you.

Local-first processing

Dropelz Local AI Studio is designed to run artificial-intelligence models on your Mac. The app does not send your chats to DLAIS. Unless you deliberately export information, open an external service, or enable a network feature described below, the following information is processed and stored locally:

• Chat messages, chat titles, attachments, extracted document text, web-result excerpts stored in a chat, and pinned-chat state.
• Prompts, generated text and images, voice transcripts, saved voice profiles and their reference transcript and metadata, and generated PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, audio, and video files. Generated videos are saved in the selected model-storage folder.
• Local usage information such as token counts, generation time, storage use, memory use, and GPU activity.
• Downloaded AI models, app settings, and the model-storage folder you select.
• Microphone audio used for dictation or voice features. Processing is local. A saved voice profile remains local until you delete it; temporary reference or generated audio can remain in macOS temporary storage until it is replaced, cleared, or removed by macOS.

Information DLAIS does not collect through the app

Dropelz Local AI Studio contains no DLAIS advertising SDK, behavioural tracking SDK, or custom analytics service. DLAIS does not receive your chats, documents, prompts, generated content, voice recordings, local usage dashboard, API keys, or installed-model list through the app.

DLAIS does not sell personal information and does not share app activity for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Optional network features and third parties

The app connects to third parties only when needed for a feature you choose. These providers receive your IP address and ordinary connection metadata and may process information in other countries under their own terms and privacy policies.

Model and component downloads

When you download a model or voice component, the app connects to Hugging Face and its delivery infrastructure. The requested repository and files, connection metadata, and any Hugging Face access token you provide are sent to Hugging Face. A token you save is stored in the macOS Keychain.

Optional Brave Search

If you enable web search and provide your own Brave Search API key, the app sends the search query, API key, language or region parameters, and connection metadata to Brave. Search results return to the local model. Chats, attached files, and document contents are not intentionally uploaded to Brave.

The app blocks some queries that appear to contain credentials or private document text, but you should still avoid placing personal, confidential, or sensitive information in a web-search query. Your Brave API key is stored in the macOS Keychain.

External links

Selecting a model source, licence, search result, or other website opens an external service or browser. Your use of that service is governed by its provider.

When you use your own provider account or API key, the provider may process information under the agreement between you and that provider. DLAIS does not control the provider’s independent retention practices.

Apple purchases, downloads, and diagnostics

Apple independently processes App Store downloads, updates, purchases, subscriptions, payment details, and transaction records under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. If App Store purchases are offered or you open the purchase screen, Dropelz Local AI Studio uses Apple’s StoreKit service to load products and verify purchases; DLAIS does not receive your full payment-card details.

Apple may provide DLAIS with aggregated sales information or diagnostics that you have chosen to share with developers. Those reports are not designed to contain Dropelz Local AI Studio chat content.

File, folder, and microphone access

Dropelz Local AI Studio accesses only files, folders, and microphone input that you select or authorize through macOS. Selected documents are read so the local model can work with them. A selected model-storage folder is remembered using Apple’s security-scoped bookmark mechanism.

You can revoke file or microphone permission in macOS System Settings. Removing permission may prevent the related feature from working.

Website visits and email

When you visit dlais.se, WordPress and the website and email host, Miss Hosting AB in Sweden, may process ordinary technical data such as your IP address, requested page, browser or device information, timestamps, and security events. This is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and keep it secure.

The public site currently uses no analytics, advertising, or behavioural-profiling cookies. Essential browser storage and administrator-only WordPress cookies are described in the Cookie Policy.

Loginizer protects the WordPress sign-in page against brute-force attacks. If someone attempts to sign in, it records the IP address, attempted username, requested sign-in URL, time, failed-attempt count, and lockout status. Failed-attempt logs are displayed for the past 24 hours. An address manually placed on a security allow or block list remains there until an administrator removes it.

If you email DLAIS, we receive your email address, name if supplied, message, and any attachment you choose to send. We use that information to answer your inquiry, provide support, and maintain necessary business or legal records. The site currently has no public account system or contact-form database.

If you deliberately email DLAIS to request development updates, DLAIS uses your email address to send those requested updates until you withdraw consent or ask to unsubscribe. You can withdraw at any time by replying or emailing info@dlais.se.

Legal bases, sharing, and international processing

Where EU or EEA data-protection law applies, DLAIS relies on the following legal bases for personal data it receives:

• Contract or steps before a contract when responding to a product, purchase, or support request.
• Legitimate interests in operating and securing the website, responding to inquiries, improving reliability, preventing abuse, and establishing or defending legal claims.
• Legal obligations where records or disclosure are required by applicable law.
• Consent where DLAIS specifically asks for it. You may withdraw consent for future processing at any time.

DLAIS uses Miss Hosting AB for website and email hosting, WordPress software to publish the site, and website-security software to protect administrator access. DLAIS may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect users, DLAIS, or others. DLAIS does not give these providers permission to use personal data for their own advertising.

Apple, Hugging Face, and Brave may process information outside Sweden or the EU/EEA. Where DLAIS appoints a provider to process personal data on its behalf, DLAIS requires an applicable transfer mechanism and appropriate contractual safeguards. Independent providers also apply their own privacy terms.

Providing files, microphone access, provider tokens, or a web-search query is optional. If you do not provide them, the related document, voice, gated-download, or web-search feature will not work. Providing a return email address is necessary if you want DLAIS to reply to an inquiry.

DLAIS does not use personal data it receives for solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects, and does not profile website visitors for advertising.

Retention, deletion, and exported files

Local information remains on your Mac until you delete it or macOS removes it. Depending on the feature, you can delete chats and saved voice profiles, uninstall downloaded models, remove the saved Brave Search key, delete generated or exported files, change the model-storage folder, and revoke permissions.

Deleting a chat does not automatically delete PDF, Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files generated from it; delete those files separately unless a model-uninstall flow explicitly removes unreferenced generated documents. Voice profiles survive Audio8 model uninstall. Generated videos and voice-profile data stored in a selected model folder can survive model uninstall and removal of the app.

Changing the model-storage folder does not move or delete files in an old location. Copies of a model on a disconnected external drive remain there and may reappear in the app when the drive reconnects. Removing Dropelz Local AI Studio may also leave exported files, external-folder data, temporary audio, and Keychain credentials until you remove them or macOS clears them.

DLAIS retains ordinary support email until the inquiry and reasonable follow-up are complete, and retains update-request addresses until consent is withdrawn. Records may be kept longer when required for accounting, legal obligations, abuse prevention, or an active dispute. Failed WordPress sign-in logs are kept for up to 24 hours unless an address is manually added to a security allow or block list. Apple and optional third parties determine their own retention periods.

Because DLAIS does not receive the local app content described above, DLAIS normally has no server-side copy to retrieve or delete. Contact us for help locating or deleting local data. Requests concerning information held by Apple, Hugging Face, or Brave may also need to be directed to that provider.

Security and children

Dropelz Local AI Studio uses the macOS app sandbox, user-selected file access, and the macOS Keychain for supported credentials. DLAIS also uses reasonable technical and organisational measures for personal data it receives. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.

You should protect your Mac account, install system updates, keep appropriate backups, and avoid using AI output as the sole basis for high-risk decisions.

Dropelz Local AI Studio is a general-purpose application and is not directed to children under 13. DLAIS does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use of downloaded models, web search, and generated content.

Access, correction, deletion, and complaints

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal data, including rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and complaint to a data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to lawful exceptions.

Most Dropelz Local AI Studio content is held only by you on your Mac, so these rights can usually be exercised directly using the app and macOS. Contact DLAIS if you believe we hold personal data about you.

In Sweden, you may lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Dropelz Local AI Studio’s features, the website, service providers, or legal obligations change. We will change the effective date and publish the revised policy here. Material app-related changes will also be reflected in the policy available from the app.
